Stilts have bright red legs, the longest legs in relation to their body of any other bird (6 1/2 inches). They have a red eye, right below the big white spot that, from a distance, might look like their eye.

If people get too close, the stilts will get together and dive-bomb them. Like some other birds, the Stilts will fake a broken wing so that a predator will chase them, instead of going after their chicks in the nest. They also do a very good broken-leg act.
