Everyone has seen a “Robin Red-Breast” on lawns and fields. Its head will be cocked, listening for movements of earthworms near the surface of the ground. Robins are found in every state except Hawaii. In fall and winter, flocks of Robins migrate to our area to feast on berries.

When birdwatchers are talking about a bird they have seen, they will often describe it as “larger (or smaller) than a Robin,” since most people have an idea what size that would be.
