     Everyone loves the Meadowlark, with its bright colors and loud, cheerful song. You can often see it singing on fence posts along the road.
     This bird builds its nest on the ground. The female finds a bowl-shaped place in the ground and shapes it by digging in the dirt with her bill. She lines the nest with soft grass. Then she builds a waterproof cover for the nest by weaving grass and plants into a roof, leaving space for an opening to the nest.
