Snowy Egret Egretta thula |

|
At first, you might think the Snowy Egret looks like a baby Great Egret. But as you watch, you’ll see that the Snowy is always moving, while the Great Egret mostly stands still. And the Snowy’s beak is black, not yellow. Look at its large, yellow feet, called “golden slippers.” The Snowy uses them to stir up the mud in a pond so it can find small fishes, worms and crabs to eat. |
