	You'll often see blackbirds eating food scraps in parking lots. Blackbirds also help us control plant-eating pests like caterpillars, beetles and bugs. Blackbirds travel in large flocks. Somehow all the birds in the flock can change direction together, instantly, as if the flock were one giant bird. When walking, this bird bobs its head forward in a jerky way. The male is black with yellow eyes. The female is grey with dark eyes.
Habitat: Meadows, shrubs, rivers, lakes, streams, parks, and urban areas. Feeding: Grain, seeds, fruit, and insects.
