     This beautiful little songbird likes to nest in cavities in dead limbs of trees. The Bluebird will perch on a branch close to the ground near its nest, and drop down like a tiny hawk on grasshoppers and other insects. In the winter it eats berries too.
     The Bluebird population has decreased in our area, partly because Starlings and House Sparrows steal their nests. Some people build nest boxes for Bluebirds, specially designed to keep out those predators.
